Description
There are approximately 2 million social economy enterprises in Europe, representing 10% of all businesses in the EU. Achieving the triple transition “green, digital and social” demands a paramount effort for including, in a more decisive manner, social economy enterprises, social innovators and entrepreneurs in our EU innovation ecosystems.
INTEGER addresses the question, of how social innovation actors can be effectively integrated into European innovation ecosystems.
The project will focus on expanding existing European innovation ecosystems in Catalonia, Hamburg and Krakow using the 4 Helix Model. The current 3 Helix Model brings together the industry, academia and government, whereas the 4 Helix Model expands this interplay by adding social innovation and thus societal impact.
INTEGER creates socially sustainable innovation ecosystems in the pilot regions of Catalonia, Hamburg and Krakow with actors from the social innovation environment, industry, the government and academia. The aim is to develop improved support models for their communication and cooperation.
Here the project will work in different layers:
- Learning and analysing the features of the regions to learn from each other and develop a new model (the new generation of living lab), the col.laboratory.
- The identification of challenges for closer cooperation between the 4 Helix actors in the regions.
- The identification of Minimum Viable Products and Services to test how social/business and technology-driven innovations can work together.
